Following a series of social media posts hints at it, Italian supercar maker Lamborghini finally revealed its NFT (non fungible token) Project. Dubbed Space Key and developed in collaboration with an unidentified artist, it is based on a piece of advanced carbon fiber composite material that was delivered to the International Space Station for research purposes.

Lamborghini, the Italian car manufacturer is making its first step into non-fungible tokens (NFTs). The latest project, named the Space Key, is a piece created in collaboration with a unknown artist. The NFT is an exclusive piece of digital art that can be obtained by scanning a QR code. The project is limited to five pieces and will be auctioned in the coming weeks.
The Space Key is made of carbon composite material which Lamborghini as part of a research project in the year 2019 sent to the International Space Station. Once it returned to earth the carbon fiber was crafted into this unique artwork. The physical element includes an NFT serial number that is linked to the digital art work via a QR code located on the back.
NFTs for those who are not familiar they are unique identifiers that are recorded on an open ledger on the blockchain and linked to a digital asset, such as a photo or video, song or any other kind of record. This enables owners to guarantee the authenticity, scarcity and the trackability of their tokens through the internet.
Lamborghini takes this unique approach to art to a new level by working with NFT PRO - a white label NFT solution for businesses. In the coming weeks the company will be sharing details about this exciting project including the name of the unidentified artist and a timetable for the auction.

The NFT was developed in collaboration with a mysterious artist and will be auctioned within a couple of weeks. At its heart is a piece of high-tech carbon fiber composite material that was shipped to the International Space Station (ISS) in 2019 as part of an experiment. The carbon fiber was 3D printed to form the base of each Space Key, which is linked with an exclusive, purely digital artwork through a QR code on its backside. Only five Space Keys have been produced.
NFTs are unique identifications that are recorded in distributed ledgers such as the Blockchain, and connected to digital assets such as images. It's a hot subject among people with more money than common sense. It was just an issue of time before automakers decided to take advantage of.
Space Key is made up of five units. It was made by using a carbon fiber composite. It was delivered to the ISS back in the year 2019. The Space Key is a collection of five physical objects that will unlock a special digital art by an unidentified artist. The 'collectors piece' was developed in collaboration with NFTPRO(tm) and is limited to five units. It will be auctioned shortly.
Each Space Key contains a block composed of a carbon-fire composite material, which was shipped to the International Space Station as part of a research project in 2019. After returning to Earth it was engraved with an QR code that connects it to the digital component of the Space Key.
Each of the five Space Keys features a different moment that occurs at different times as the Lamborghini Ultimae takes off towards the stars. More than 600 million pixels each of the five images, that were taken by photographer Fabian Oefner.
Oefner used an inflatable camera that had a lens to capture individual images, which were later combined into the final photo. The result is an image that is out of this world. It captures both the beauty of Earth and the futuristic, hyperrealistic picture of a car rising from the Earth. The Space Keys are going to be auctioned off in the near future, but there isn't a specific date or place yet.

Each NFT will be auctioned off separately and the winner will be awarded an original digital art work by the renowned photographer Fabian Oefner that captures five different moments the Space Key experienced during its flight in outer space.
